If you are a fishing fool, (like we are) the Kenai River has got to be the closest place to heaven there is here on Earth! As soon as you see it for the first time, snaking it’s way through the trees, you KNOW why it has come to be world renown!
It is late summer, the water is an amazing turquoise blue-green! The sky and clouds, in an attempt to not be out done, reflects back in a vivid display of bright pastel colors. The river is flowing fast and the reds are running in full force! As if to prove this point, an almost constant stream of drift boats and jet sleds are smoothly carried along in the swift current.
Here, in this little slice of heaven, (and in between exciting … heart pumping … adrenalin rushing … muscle wrenching … fish wrangling!) we discovered a peace neither of us has ever known.
On the following pages you will find, Information & photos about the area. Our REAL life experiences and stories as we explore, hunt, fish, gather and dream in this bountiful land! We will not sell you a hunting or fishing trip. Though you will find the best of both on the Kenai Peninsula, look for links to our favorite guides.
